Spindiag GmbH was an innovative medical technology start-up based in Freiburg im Breisgau, founded in 2016 as a spin-off from the renowned Hahn-Schickard Institute. The team combined expertise in microfluidics, life sciences, and diagnostics and, with its “Rhonda” platform, aimed to enable reliable PCR diagnostics directly at the point of care—i.e., where samples were taken.

We specifically identified candidates with medtech experience, taking into account project durations, regulatory challenges, and Spindiag's ambitious development roadmap.
Thanks to the appointments, Spindiag was able to achieve important milestones: expanded test ranges (e.g., combined Respi-Disk tests, MRSA tests), CE-IVD conformity, and market entry under strict requirements. The product quality and user-friendliness of the Rhonda platform were also frequently cited as advantages. Spindiag was thus able to grow in a technologically, economically, and regulatory sustainable manner.
