Every Christmas, we donate to a non-profit organization which works to combat social injustice and general welfare. At the suggestion and following the personal involvement of Peter Majer, our Senior Partner and recruitment consultant for life sciences / pharma, our 2020 donation goes to the Bärenherz Foundation. The organization, whose name means ‘the heart of a bear,’ seeks to help the families of children who have been diagnosed with a life-shortening disease. Once the terrible news has sunk in, the question that these families ask themselves is how to spend the remaining valuable time with dignity and with the best possible medical care. The Bärenherz children’s hospice offers terminally ill children and their parents support in this painful situation.
Since 2003, the Wiesbaden-based foundation has been helping families living through complex situations by supporting care homes for severely disabled and terminally ill children and adolescents. These institutions offer families quick and straightforward help. Bärenherz serves as a place of refuge for children and their families, where the children receive professional and loving care and their parents find some consolation and relief.
