At BESTMINDS, social commitment is a matter of course: every year at Christmas, we donate to a charitable organization that supports people in challenging life situations. In 2020, we chose the Bärenherz Foundation. This organization tirelessly supports families whose children are terminally ill.
“It was a matter close to our hearts to support Bärenherz,” says one of our HR consultants. “In our day-to-day work with people in the healthcare sector, we feel how important it is to have empathetic and reliable support - especially when life gets off track.”
Since 2003, the Wiesbaden-based Bärenherz Foundation has been supporting children's hospices and care facilities that enable seriously ill or severely disabled children and young people to lead a dignified life - even if this is only for a short time.
At the children's hospice, affected families find a place of peace and professional support. The children receive the best medical and nursing care and experience as much normality, security and joy of life as possible. At the same time, parents and siblings receive psychological support and valuable relief in everyday life.
A large part of Bärenherz's work is financed by donations. The foundation receives around 50 percent of its funding from private donations. Every contribution, whether large or small, makes a difference for the affected children and their families.
