Every year at Christmas, BESTMINDS Executive Search donates to a non-profit organization that works to address social ills or fights for the common good. Motivated by personal contacts of our new and dedicated Office Manager Eva Leitz, our donation for the year 2021 went to the Förderverein für krebskranke Kinder e.V. Freiburg i.Br. and their Elternhaus.
The non-profit association does everything possible to help children with cancer and their families. The chances of cure for each individual child are made up of many components. For example, research in the field must be driven forward, as well as medical and personnel care must be improved. Most importantly, the entire family must be supported and cared for during these difficult times.
For this reason, the Elternhaus is located directly at the Uniklinik Freiburg, which offers the children a second home, independent of the hospital. Since the founding of the association 40 years ago, all volunteer efforts and donations have gone into the association's projects and the Elternhaus.
At the moment, the association is collecting donations for a second Elternhaus in Freiburg, since the children's clinic has changed its location. Due to the long distance, children undergoing treatment and their families cannot use the current Elternhaus as a second home, as originally planned. Therefore, the new Elternhaus will be built next to the children's clinic by the end of the year at a cost of 14 million euros.
