In place of Christmas Stollen and Spekulatius confectionery, the company BESTMINDS GmbH - Executive Search has donated 3000 Euro for the social project Malteser Mahlzeitenpatenschaft. "With this we cannot change the situation, but at least in small ways we can do good for some people," says Fritz Kurz, Munich Managing Partner of BESTMINDS GmbH and citizen of the community of Gräfelfing.
The personnel consultancy BESTMINDS, headquartered in Freiburg, searches for and places specialists and executives for the IT/media and medical technology/life science/pharmaceutical sectors. "We have been involved in various projects for older and needy people for many years," Kurz reports. The idea for the donation for the meal sponsorships was born at a meeting when "we came to the point of old-age poverty and those who are on the margins of society when it comes to securing their livelihood."
500 warm and healthy meals will be delivered by Malteser International with the donated money to the needy. "With this money we can provide a poor person with a warm meal every day for almost 17 months. Or the other way round: The donation money is enough to feed 17 people for one month", says Thomas Rapp, who heads the social services of Malteser International in the district of Munich. "This is a strong sign of charity," says Rapp.
