The DKOU is the most important German and Europe-wide largest congress in the field of orthopedics and trauma surgery. This year, the DKOU 2022 took place from October 25 to 28, as always in Berlin. 170 exhibitors primarily from medical technology expected visitors on 4800 square meters of industrial space.
The motto of this year's congress was "With enthusiasm for our patients!"
With this motto, the DKOU 2022 would like to put the patient back in the center of attention. Program topics include optimal patient-specific preparation and care and how this can be implemented despite increasing economic pressure, staff shortages and political guidelines. For the congress presidents, it is clear that this can only be achieved through empathy and enthusiasm. It is a matter of concern for the presidents to present the subject of "orthopedics and trauma surgery" with all its facets and possibilities and to inspire young talents.
With decades of professional experience in the orthopedic industry, Bernhard Joekel, Siegfried Faix and Michael Splitt are well informed about current market events and trends and will again participate in this year's Congress for Orthopedics and Trauma Surgery after a 2-year "Corona break".
In Executive Search, our personnel consultants have specialized in particular in the placement of specialists and executives in orthopedics.
Our experts support companies in the medical technology and healthcare sectors in recruiting specialists and executives, especially in sales and marketing, as well as hospitals and hospital groups in their search for highly qualified staff, especially in the medical field.
They describe their personal impressions of DKOU 2022 here:
"It was really refreshing to exchange ideas with colleagues about trends in the market in person again after a forced Corona break. As a recruitment consultant, part of our job is to have our finger on the pulse of the times in order to be able to respond to our clients' needs. I was most fascinated by the advance of robotics as a current trend. Many exhibitors impressively demonstrated how robotics-assisted surgical procedures can be integrated into orthopedics and trauma surgery." Siegfried Faix - Managing Partner
"After two "lean years", I was finally able to cultivate and further expand my old network in person again. Thank you for the exciting exchange of information on current market topics! It was especially interesting to see how implant manufacturers have developed in recent years and are now investing heavily in robotics. In general, it can be seen that the topic of digitalization is being followed more closely by exhibitors than before. I am already looking forward to attending more industry events and participating in DKOU again next year." Bernhard Joekel - Senior Partner
"It was great to see so many former colleagues from the industry and of course many surgeons again in my hometown. I missed that a lot the last years. I hope I will be able to have as many interesting and challenging conversations at the next congress. At the Congress of the German Society for Spine Surgery (DWG) in 2022, I will be there again. Feel free to contact me to meet and exchange ideas in person at the congress." Michael Splitt - Senior Partner
